How the seal is achieved

IP65 vs IP67 — which do I need?
IP65 resists water jets; IP67 survives temporary immersion. Choose IP67 only if the charger may be submerged (e.g. marine). IP65 covers most outdoor and washdown use.
Does potting hurt repair?
Potted units are not field-serviceable, but they are far more reliable. For serviceability, some designs use gasketed enclosures without full potting.
Can an IP65 charger be fan-cooled?
Fans need airflow, which conflicts with sealing. IP65 chargers are typically convection-cooled or use sealed MagLev fans with filtered intake — discuss thermal budget with the manufacturer.
Is IP65 enough for marine?
