48V Lithium Battery Charger Specification Checklist for E-Bike and E-Scooter Buyers
A 48V battery label does not by itself identify the correct charger. The required charging voltage, permitted charging current, connector and charging behavior depend on the actual battery pack, battery chemistry and BMS configuration.
1. Confirm the battery requirement first
- Battery nominal voltage and the exact required charging voltage
- Battery chemistry and battery-management-system charging limits
- Required output current and expected charging-time target
- Intended application: e-bike, e-scooter, mobility device or battery pack
Use the battery-pack documentation where available. Do not select a charger only by matching the nominal voltage printed on the battery label.
2. Check connector compatibility
Confirm pin arrangement, polarity, keying, cable length and strain relief against the existing battery connector. A clear connector photo and the battery-side details help prevent mismatches. Connector availability depends on the charger model, current rating and project requirement.
3. Match the installation and input requirements
State the target market AC supply, indoor or outdoor operating conditions, mounting position and any service-stock requirements. For replacement programs, retain the existing charger label and connector information for comparison during technical review.
4. Validate before bulk supply
Evaluate the final charger configuration with the actual battery pack before approving bulk supply. Check charging behavior, connector fit, polarity, cable routing and any project-specific label or packaging requirement. Documents and market requirements should be confirmed according to the exact model and target market.
