Quick Voltage Matching Rule (Most Important!)
NEVER guess! Using wrong voltage charger damages battery and voids warranty. Always match:
- Charger output voltage = Battery max charging voltage (±0.5V tolerance)
- Examples: 36V battery (42V max) → 42V charger | 48V battery (54.6V max) → 54.6V charger

Charger Current (Amperage) Selection Guide
Choosing the right charging current affects charging speed AND battery lifespan:
| Battery Capacity (Ah) | Recommended Charge Current | Charging Time (Approx.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8-10Ah | 2A (0.2C-0.25C) | 4-5 hours | Gentle on battery, extends lifespan |
| 10-14Ah | 3A (0.2C-0.3C) | 3-4.5 hours | Good balance of speed and lifespan |
| 14-20Ah | 4A (0.2C-0.3C) | 3.5-5 hours | Faster charging, still safe for battery |
| 20Ah+ | 5A+ (0.25C max) | 4-6 hours | Only if battery supports high charge current |
Pro Tip: Charging at 0.2C-0.3C (where C = battery capacity in Ah) is optimal for battery lifespan. Example: 10Ah battery → 2A-3A charger is ideal. Avoid chargers >0.5C unless battery manufacturer approves.
IP Rating Guide for EBike Chargers
| IP Rating | Protection Level | Recommended For |

FAQ: EBike Battery & Charger Voltage
Can I use a 48V charger (54.6V) on a 36V battery (42V max)?
NO! This will overcharge your 36V battery, causing permanent damage and fire risk. Always match charger output voltage to battery max charging voltage (±0.5V tolerance).
My eBike has a 48V battery, but my charger says “54.6V output” – is this normal?
Yes, this is normal! A “48V” eBike battery is actually a 13S Li-ion battery with a nominal voltage of 48V (3.7V × 13 = 48.1V). The fully charged voltage is 54.6V (4.2V × 13 = 54.6V). So your charger should output 54.6V.
Where can I find the voltage information for my eBike battery?
Check these locations:
- Battery label: Usually shows “36V 10.4Ah” or “48V 14Ah”
- Original charger: Label shows output voltage (e.g., “Output: 42V 2A”)
- eBike manual: Specifications section
- Manufacturer website: Search your eBike model + “battery specifications”
