Ingress protection for chargers that ride with the vehicle

A golf cart fleet charges where the cart parks — under a half-roof, beside a wash bay, often in the open. The charger rides with the vehicle, so it eats the same weather the cart does.

The failure mode we see in the field

Operators report chargers dying after a rainy season. Teardown usually shows corrosion on the DC connector and the fan intake. The fix is not a bigger fan — it is sealing the enclosure and gasketing every seam.

What ingress protection buys you

Ingress Protection (IP) ratings describe how well a housing resists dust and water:

• IP65 — dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets. Suitable for outdoor and wash-down exposure.
• Higher ratings (IP67) survive temporary immersion, but add cost and are not required for most cart and equipment duty.

JUXON offers IP65-rated sealed chargers on select models — for example the Juxon010-450A, Juxon010-840A, Juxon010-900B and Juxon010-2000B — with sealed or gasketed aluminium enclosures. Other models are built to indoor / light-duty ratings and should be mounted in a protected location.

Lesson for specifiers
